Fall is here and H&M just dropped this season’s collection in which, of course, I shopped for a lot! I recently tried a haul from H&M and found a selection of items that truly flatter petites. Among all the pieces, I narrowed my picks down to a few because of how they look chic and expensive — it’s even hard to believe that they’re just from H&M!
Being petite, I’m always searching for pieces that work with my frame—not against it. I’m 5’2″ and these are the best fall H&M pieces that worked for me.
Cable Knit Cardigan

Let me start with this cardigan that’s 60% cotton — super cozy! Plus, the chunky cable texture adds visual interest, while the cropped-ish cut defines my waistline (so key at 5’2″).
You can wear it as a top or a layering piece just like how I did with it over a white tee. I’m typically an XS but I sized up a bit for this one by going for S so that I can easily layer it.
Off the Shoulder Dress
How elegant is this form-fitting off-the-shoulder dress? I love how it gives a flattering fit and having it in dark brown makes it look very sophisticated. The rich color embraces this fall season’s color palette so elegantly!
The midi length hits just right for my 5’2 height. I’m wearing XS here, which made the dress hug my body in all the right places. The fabric, neckline, sleeve length all just work so perfectly for my petite frame.
Textured-Knit Low-Cut Cardigan

This textured cardigan is another hidden gem and I love it so much that I got it in two colors. The contrast in piping elevates the piece, making it look even more elegant and visually attractive.
For those like me who like clothing pieces that have slimming effects, you are going to love its wide square neckline. Another thing I love about this is the length (just right around my belly button), further elongating my legs.

Hooded Faux Fur Jacket

This faux fur jacket is perfect for the varying temperatures of the fall season. It’s super comfy, not to mention how luxurious it looks! I have to tell you though, if you want to get it in dark brown, you have to act now because they’re selling out fast!
It even has a hood that makes the jacket even cuter. The feel of the faux fur jacket is very similar to the one I have from J. Crew, but obviously this one from H&M is way more afforable.
Fine-Knit Cardigan

At first glance, this gray cardigan may look super basic. But once I tried it on, I can immediately feel that it’s very well-made — from the button placements to the fabric texture itself. It instantly elevates my outfit.
I decided to go for XS on this one because I’d like to wear it more as a top. But if you want to also use this for layering, I suggest you size up.
Double-Breasted Bouclé Cardigan

How cute is this boucle cardigan? I know how many petite girls like me would feel intimidated with double-breasted designs because of how they usually make us look wider and shorter. However, this one is in crop length so it gives more space for my legs, resulting in a visually elongated effect.
The fabric is soft and kind of fluffy, making it one of the coziest pieces I got from H&M. They can be worn even in dressier events.
Cable Knit Cardigan

I’d say this one is H&M’s signature pieces because they’re their bestsellers and they make them every year in many different color options. The cable knit detail is quite intricate so you can easily tell that it’s of great quality.
I went for my usual size (XS) for this one and I love the slightly tighter fit, especially because I’d be wearing it mostly as a top on its own. It looks perfect with my loosely-fitted bottoms just like these barrel jeans I got from Old Navy.
Heeled Sock Boots

These new glove booties (also called heeled sock boots) are super trendy this season. These are made of faux leather and the pointed-toe is just perfect for elongating my legs.
They also have these boots in brown and I’m also eyeing on that one. I pair them with my faux leather jacket from loft and jeans from GAP.

To save the best for last, I want to talk about my ultra favorite pairs of wide-leg jeans from H&M. I’ve worn these so many times in my videos so if you’ve seen those, you can definitely tell how these jeans fit me like a glove.
The patch pockets give it a uniquely elevated look and the length hits just right for my petite frame. I got size 2 for the light wash pair and size 4 for the dark wash. For some reason, the darker wash had a tighter fit so I chose to size up for it. But overall, both colors look great with a wide variety of my outfits!
The H&M pieces above tick all the boxes petite girls would want to consider: cropped/waist-ending tops, ankle-length bottoms, and sleek fit. I had fun trying them on and I can confidently say they’ll work for more than just one day—they’re wardrobe keepers!
