If you’re petite like me at 5’2, travel outfits are not easy. Most comfy pieces are either too long or too oversized, and short legs make everything trickier. But after years of road trips, long airplane rides, and 10-hour drives, I finally have six go-to outfits that are comfortable, polished, and flattering for petites. These are the travel combinations I trust every single time.
Sweater Jacket + Wide Leg Set

I was so excited when I found this Lou & Grey set because the pants are actually petite-sized. The 27 inch inseam hits perfectly on my shorter legs without dragging. The high-rise elastic waist is ideal for long road trips and plane rides, and the waffle-knit sweater jacket is thick, expensive-looking, and easy to take on and off as temperatures change. I wear XS on top and small for the pants, both true to size.

Half zips are everywhere this season and honestly look much more polished than a standard crewneck. My burgundy Walmart half zip fits me perfectly, and the petite Amazon casual pants have a 24 inch inseam that’s ideal for short legs. I’ve worn these for hiking, travel, and errands. Even though the outfit is affordable, the colors work beautifully together and look far more expensive than they are.

Leggings can be tricky for petites, especially if you carry more weight in the tummy like I do. So I always layer with a jacket when I travel. It covers my midsection without overwhelming my frame, making this one of the most flattering travel outfits I own.

My new Adidas Sambas from Nordstrom finally fit my size 5 foot, and the whole outfit feels clean, sharp, and airport-ready.

These Quince leggings are unlike workout leggings. They’re stretchy ponte dress leggings with a 25 inch inseam that hits perfectly at my ankle. They look like pants but feel as comfortable as leggings, making them ideal for everyday wear or travel. Paired with my Quince cashmere zip-up hoodie, which is buttery soft and luxurious in person, this becomes my elevated travel outfit for days when I want warmth, comfort, and a more polished look.
